Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce

Taylor Swift and her boyfriend, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, were spotted at the U.S. Open in New York City.

They were joined by friends Brittany Mahomes and her husband, Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes.

The group enjoyed the men's singles final, featuring Taylor Fritz from the U.S. and Jannik Sinner from Italy.

The U.S. Open's X account shared a nostalgic photo of Taylor Swift from 2002, where she performed "God Bless America." Right below that, they posted a recent snap of Swift and Kelce at the event.

The caption read: "Taylor Swift returns to U.S. Open after singing 'God Bless America' in 2002

Going Viral

The post quickly went viral, amassing nearly 788,000 views. The account's caption, "Life comes full circle for @taylorswift13," resonated with fans, leading to a flood of comments.

One user wrote, "This is the cutest invisible string," while another added, "Stop making me cry."

Emotional Reactions

The emotional reactions were palpable. One person shared, "Wow, it is not a good day to be my emotions," while another reminisced, "22 years ago and she was 13 years old... tayvoodoo." It’s worth noting that Swift was actually 12 years old in 2002.

Controversy and Conversations

Swift's appearance at the event also stirred up some controversy. After Brittany Mahomes allegedly liked a post from former President Donald Trump in August and received praise from him in September, fans were divided.

Some were dismayed by Swift's continued friendship with Mahomes, given Swift’s outspoken stance against Trump in her 2020 documentary, Miss Americana.

Fans Weigh In

Fans took to social media to express their frustration. One wrote on Threads, "5 years ago Taylor was crying in a documentary because she wanted to actively go against Trump, which she did.

Now she’s cuddling with Trump supporters."

Another user on X criticized Swift for being out of touch, stating, "I don’t think Taylor Swift is a Republican but I do think she’s an out-of-touch Democrat billionaire who believes you can separate politics from relationships."

The Ongoing Debate

The discourse highlights a rift among Swifties, with some calling for more critical thinking about the artist.

A third person commented, "This whole discourse has shown me how many of you cannot think critically when it comes to Taylor Swift.

You don’t have to like everything she likes to be a fan, and you don’t need to praise everything she does to be a fan. Please, get up and hold your favorite artist accountable."
