Pastor Paseka ‘Mboro’ Motsoeneng, who has dubbed himself a prophet, finds himself in deeper legal trouble as the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court has decided to delay his bail hearing.
Mboro was taken into custody in August along with his son and bodyguard after a dramatic incident at Matsediso Primary School in Katlehong on August 5.
The situation escalated when Mboro and his bodyguard, Clement Baloyi, were seen wielding dangerous weapons.
On August 19, Mboro and Baloyi were denied bail due to a lack of sufficient evidence to warrant their release, while Mboro’s son was released on a warning.
Courtroom Drama
During his latest court appearance, Mboro chose to ignore his lawyer’s advice to steer clear of media interactions.
He voiced his belief that his fame is causing him to be unfairly targeted, while his lawyer argued that Mboro is a victim of prejudice and victimization.
Legal Complications
The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) has outlined a series of serious charges against Mboro and his associates.
These include kidnapping, possession of dangerous and unlicensed firearms, assault through threats, and malicious property damage.
The charges also cover firearm-related offenses like pointing and discharging.
Family Feud at the Heart of the Issue
The conflict appears to center around a dispute involving Mboro’s grandchildren.
The argument reportedly began after the death of the children’s mother in April, and it involves custody issues related to the young learners, who are enrolled in Grade R and Grade 2 at Matsediso Primary School.
