Liverpool have made some intriguing additions to their UEFA Champions League roster with the inclusion of two Nigerian talents.
As they gear up to begin their Champions League journey against AC Milan at the iconic San Siro on Tuesday evening, the Reds have brought on board centre-back Wellity Lucky-Omoruyi and midfielder Afolami Onanuga.
This move is detailed on UEFA’s official website.
In addition to Lucky-Omoruyi and Onanuga, Liverpool’s squad for the tournament now includes key first-team players like Conor Bradley and Harvey Elliott, among others.
The squad comprises 23 players in total, with the Nigerian duo being listed under List B.
Even though Lucky-Omoruyi and Onanuga are officially part of the Champions League squad, it’s unlikely they’ll see much action unless there are significant injuries or disciplinary issues affecting the main squad.
However, the young players are set to be involved in the UEFA Youth League and are part of the match-day lineup for the opening game against AC Milan’s U-19 team.
