Fabrizio Romano Clarifies Victor Osimhen’s Commitment to Galatasaray Amid Ongoing Chelsea Transfer Speculations

Victor Osimhen

The buzz around Super Eagles striker, Victor Osimhen, and a possible move to Chelsea has been making waves in the football world.

With speculations gaining momentum, football fans were eager to learn if the star would be making his way to Stamford Bridge in January.

But where did these rumors come from, and is there any truth to them?

Mikel Obi’s Comments Fuel Rumors

It all began when former Chelsea star, John Mikel Obi, made a comment that hinted at the possibility of Osimhen joining Chelsea during the January transfer window.

This stirred excitement among Chelsea supporters, who remembered how their club had shown interest in the 25-year-old during the summer.

However, despite Chelsea's efforts and multiple contract offers, nothing materialized.

Why the Summer Move Didn’t Happen

Chelsea had made around four offers for Osimhen over the summer.

But, the negotiations hit a snag.

The issue wasn’t just about interest—it came down to finances.

The Premier League side couldn't match the salary Osimhen was earning at Napoli.

As a result, the talented striker didn’t end up in London but instead secured a season-long loan with Turkish giants Galatasaray.

Romano Sets the Record Straight

To clear up the confusion, football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano addressed the rumors on his YouTube channel.

He emphasized that Osimhen is fully committed to his new club, Galatasaray, and is focused on honoring his contract with them.

Romano said, “Victor Osimhen just signed for Galatasaray.

Respect for Galatasaray, not just from my side but also on the player’s side, camp, and the player himself.”

He continued, “They want to respect Gala, focus on Gala, play for Gala—this is the position on the player’s side.”

Chelsea's Interest Remains

Although Osimhen is dedicated to Galatasaray for now, Romano did acknowledge Chelsea's continued interest in the striker.

He explained that the club's admiration for Osimhen hasn’t wavered despite the failed negotiations in August.

Romano shared, “Chelsea understands what happened in the final days of August.

They understand how complicated the negotiations were in terms of financials, salary, and contract.

But their appreciation for Victor Osimhen remains absolutely concrete.”

In short, while Osimhen’s future may hold possibilities, for now, he’s staying focused on his current team, and any move to Chelsea will have to wait.
